Moises Chirinos (Honduras/U.S.)

Mentor

Moises began to play the double bass at the age of 13 at the National School of Music in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He is currently pursuing Bachelor of Music on double bass Performance at Louisiana State University with Yung-Chiao Wei. He has participated in music festivals such as the Central America Youth Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, the Festival Campos Do Jordao, the Master Players Festival, the Festival Placido Domingo in Honduras, and the Louisiana Bass Fest. He has performed in masterclasses with Dominic Seldis (England- Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Daxun Zhang (Silk Road Ensemble Austin Texas), Pedro Gadhela (Orquesta Sinfonica de Sao Paulo), Satoshi Okamoto (New York Philharmonic Orchestra), and Juan Carlos Peña (Grand Opera of Florida). He has been awarded third prize at the Louisiana Bass Fest and fifth place at the Master Players Festival Competition.
